Welcome to Greenway Crossing Montessori School

We are pleased to announce the Grand Re-Opening of Greenway Crossing Montessori School serving the greater Madison area! We are nestled in the heart of the city at 1325 Greenway Cross, just off of Fish Hatchery Road.

Representing an entirely different approach to education, Greenway Crossing accentuates learning through all five senses and not just through listening, watching or reading. Our children learn at their own pace and according to their own choice of activities from hundreds of possibilities. The process of discovery, concentration, motivation and self-discipline is manifested through the love of learning. Education of character is equally important as academic education. Our children learn to take care of themselves, their environment and each other by cooking, cleaning, building, gardening, moving gracefully, speaking kindly, being considerate and helpful, doing community service activities, etc.

Due to the overwhelming success of our current programs, additional programs have been added. Our new expansion has afforded us the opportunity to offer the following outstanding programs:

6 weeks – 1 year - Infant Program 1 year old – Toddler Program 2 years old – Pre-Primary Program

3 - 5 years old – Primary Program Elementary – Lower and Upper Elementary Program K – 6th Grade – Afterschool

Our school offers part- or full-day programs. The school is open between 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays. We provide an Extended Day Program for pre-kindergarten and kindergarten, and for ages 4 ½ - 6 years old with a more advanced curriculum in order to prepare them for kindergarten and first grade.

Each classroom has an English- and Spanish-speaking teacher so that children can communicate in their native language along with learning a new one.

Competition is replaced by cooperation. Teachers stress the understanding of concepts rather than the memorization of facts. And, children are encouraged to follow their own personal interests through a world of discovery and learning. We believe the size of the school gives each child a better opportunity to develop a defined preparedness for their own future. We also believe that our friendly size allows for enhanced familial connections between teacher, children and parents; this promotes feelings of connectedness in the child’s life.

Currently we are accepting enrollment for our exciting Summer and School Year Programs. Our exhilarating Summer Programs are jam packed with interactive learning opportunities coupled with field trips, expert in-house presentations throughout the summer, and special, secret surprises! Your child will be talking about these events all summer.

Our School Year Programs are exemplary. Carefully prepared curriculum is introduced in our programs and has proven to be an outstanding success! Children placed in three-year age groups (3-6, 6-9 and 9-12 years old) form communities in which older children spontaneously share their knowledge with the younger ones; our older children are great ambassadors.
